On Tuesday, Microsoft released Flight Simulator 2024. The launch was rocky, and a treat to those who enjoy memes.

Nevertheless, FS2024 contains many long-requested technical improvements in WASM modules and other key areas that are important for delivering advanced features like docking systems. It offers everything FS2020 had – and much more – with a smaller performance impact.

Today’s update to the VDGS module introduces another set of small changes.

We received a report that the Maddog MD-80 was being displayed as “DC80” on docking devices. To address this, we’ve added a new table that maps incorrect aircraft types to more accurate names, with the MD-80 as the first entry.

If the aircraft you’re flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator is shown on docking devices with an incorrect or nonsensical name, please report it, and we’ll add it to the table.
